Is it the right of human beings to live like human beings? Or is it a “law made by the state” to control plants? The film asks the question, “Do we have the right to live like human beings? The film follows Masamitsu Yamamoto, a former French chef who chose marijuana as a way to live after battling terminal cancer, and was arrested under the Marijuana Control Law. The documentary follows the six months from his arrest in December 2015 to his death just before his sentencing on July 25, 2016. During the trial, he said, “If there is a treatment other than marijuana, please tell me. If there is, I will use it,” but he never heard an answer.
