The rally titled “A Grand Festival to Protect Japan from Tokyo: A Street Speech in Front of the National Diet” attracted nearly 20,000 individuals concerned about the current state of Japan. As organizer Satoru Utsumi remarked, “There are political differences with Tamogami. We don’t need conservatives, progressives, right-wingers, or left-wingers. Tamogami is a conservative figure.” Despite these differences, Tamogami appeared at this seemingly contradictory assembly.
Utsumi was seen warmly greeting Tamogami with a firm handshake, amidst the audience’s murmurs of confusion. The loudspeaker announced, “To protect the lives of the citizens, unity is essential. We need collaboration. The enemy is the forces of globalization. We must speak the truth with courage and unite to save this country.” The crowd of 20,000 erupted in applause and cheers. Following this, Dewi Fujin took the stage, proclaiming, “Japan must change! We must change from Tokyo!” This further heightened the atmosphere in the venue.
For many gathered in front of the National Diet, it was a surprise to see candidates Utsumi and Tamogami calling for unity and collaboration from the same stage—an event that seemed unlikely. However, the groundwork for this moment had been laid with a joint statement from Tamogami and Utsumi.

東京都知事選挙も折り返しを迎え、残り1週間ほどとなりました。ご支援及び応援を賜りまして誠に感謝申し上げます。
先日記事にもあげましたが、私はこの東京都知事選は単なる首長選挙ではなく、一部の既得権益者、全体主義や共産主義者、そのすべてに対する庶民、都民、国民の生存闘争と考えております。そんな想いで都知事選を闘っているなかで、自分の勝手な思想で何か一つ自分の思想と相違するものがあれば、本人同士の交流を無視して思想の近い別の候補者と対立させるような分断工作ともいえる言動も多く見受けられるようになりました。
そのうちの1人でもある田母神候補と6月29日の朝に、直接の電話対談をすることができました。その機会をつくっていただいた佐藤和夫氏と池田としえ氏にこの場を借りてお礼を申し上げます。６月２８日の武見厚生労働大臣の記者会見にもあったように、今後ワクチンなどの強制措置をとることを示唆するような発言もあり、その電話対談では、一部思想の相違はあれど、ワクチン行政に反対という同意見を持つもの同士、立場や枠を超えて全ての人たちに団結を促すためにも、ワクチンなど強制化阻止の点においては対立ではなく、共闘すること、まずはワクチン推進者たちへの反対の行動を明確化することで合意しました。
前述した通り、この都知事選挙は今のままの日本では生活があまりにも脅かされるという危機感で両者出馬をしておりますので、両陣営の支援者さんたちも思想を超えて日本人全体の問題として、一つでも思想の違いがあったら互いに対立させるのではなく、共通の目的を達成させるためにも、共闘できるように引き続きそれぞれの支援とご理解を賜りたいと強く願っております。皆さまのご協力をお願い申し上げます。
