The test sites were chosen in areas severely contaminated by the accident, especially those with high concentrations of radioisotopes such as cesium-137 and strontium-90. Hemp grew well, producing high-quality organic matter, and the absorbed radioactive materials were mainly accumulated in the roots and stems.
